SUSTAINABILITY
Photovoltaic Panels

We see ourselves right now as a sustainable company and we are working hard every day to cement that status. We have actively endeavoured to guarantee one of our sustainability flagships: the installation of photovoltaic panels.
As we know, the energy crisis is a worldwide problem and RAMIL is keen to do its part to promote self-consumption, and is proud to have done so by installing 67 photovoltaic panel modules that generate green energy, with a capacity of 36.18Kwp.
With this intervention we expect to reduce our energy costs exponentially and move towards solving some of the environmental problems that are plaguing the planet at the moment.
Biodiversity
Climate change and the decline in biodiversity are a real problem that has affected fauna and flora, leading to the disappearance of species and others becoming endangered. Knowing that, we decided to take concrete measures to promote biodiversity in the vicinity of RAMIL infrastructures by strategically placing the following elements: Hotel for insects; Boxes for birds; Boxes for bats; Hydration points for animals to drink. With regard to flora, fruit trees and native trees were planted.
Internally, we decided to manage and reduce the use of pesticides and use organic waste to fertilise the plants, promoting organic farming.

Recycling

Knowing the size of the textile industry in Portugal, RAMIL is aware of the mass production of waste that can potentially be transformed into new consumer products. This is why we are increasingly making an effort to fulfil our values by taking an active part in waste collection and subsequent recycling.
Excluding from the equation the campaigns and strong dissemination of the message of reusing industrial waste, we can highlight some actions in this direction: Recycling bins placed in the cafeteria, office and production areas with associated information and awareness-raising elements and in the production area, the separation of paper, plastic and textiles is encouraged.
The use of paper tape and recycled plastic bags are also a standard procedure, as well as the possibility of incorporating organic fabrics in the production of garments.
